The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Aramide Olaniyan was the cynosure of attention at the 2026 Annual General Meeting of the Police Officers' Wives Association (POWA), where he served as the Special Guest of Honour and received widespread commendation for his unwavering support for the Nigeria Police Force TMnews report.

The three-day gathering, held at the Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja, drew senior government officials, top police officers, wives of serving and retired police personnel, security stakeholders and development partners from across the country.
In a moving goodwill address, Olaniyan described police officers' wives as the "unsung heroines of national security," acknowledging their sacrifices in supporting their spouses who daily confront crime and insecurity.

He said while police officers serve on the frontlines, their wives bear enormous responsibilities at home by providing emotional strength, stability and encouragement that enable the officers to discharge their duties effectively.

According to him, "Only Almighty God can adequately reward the wives of our gallant police officers for their sacrifices. If there is any group deserving of national honours without prejudice, it is the wives of our police officers."

His remarks attracted a standing ovation from participants, many of whom described the speech as one of the strongest public recognitions ever accorded to members of POWA.

The PCRC Chairman also commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, praising his leadership style and describing him as the right choice to lead the Nigeria Police Force.

He noted that the Inspector-General's professionalism, strategic vision and commitment to reform have continued to strengthen public confidence in policing across the country.

Olaniyan equally lauded the National President of POWA for her unwavering support for police families and her contributions to the welfare of officers' spouses.

Responding, the POWA National President thanked the PCRC Chairman for honouring the association's invitation and acknowledged the committee's consistent collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force in promoting peace, security and community engagement.

The Inspector-General of Police also paid glowing tribute to the PCRC National Chairman, describing him as a patriot, bridge-builder and visionary leader whose contributions have continued to enhance policing and national development.

Representing the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the Wife of the Minister of Defence commended the PCRC for its growing impact in strengthening community policing and fostering stronger police-community relations across Nigeria.

Olaniyan attended the event alongside key members of the PCRC National Executive, including Deputy National Chairman Generalisimo, Ambassador Sadiq Wada; Chairman of PCRC Rivers State Command, Dr. Voke Emore; and Deputy Chief of Staff to the National Chairman and Chairman of Zone 7, Otunba Bolaji Adigun.

Observers described the PCRC delegation as one of the most outstanding at the event, citing the team's unity, discipline and commitment to the organisation's vision.

The event further underscored the increasing national recognition of the PCRC under Olaniyan's leadership as the organisation continues to strengthen partnerships between the police and the communities they serve, while advancing peace, security and national development.
