Rt. Hon. Adeyanju Marks One Year in Office with Youth Empowerment, Quiz Contest and Football Tournament

The Legislative Leader of Ipokia Local Government, Rt. Hon. Akeem Alamu Adeyanju, popularly known as Babaogbon has unveiled a lineup of developmental initiatives to commemorate his one year in office. The activities, which are youth-centered, are geared towards enhancing education, promoting self-reliance and strengthening community unity across Ipokia and Ifonyintedo Ward in particular.
In a statement from his office, Rt. Hon. Adeyanju announced that the anniversary celebration will feature a three-in-one empowerment program designed to equip young people with academic, entrepreneurial and social engagement opportunities.The events include:Secondary schools across Ifonyintedo Ward will converge for the Hon. Adeyanju Inter-School Quiz Competition scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2025. The contest is aimed at promoting academic excellence, encouraging intellectual curiosity and nurturing future leaders.
Youth Skills Acquisition Training:
To combat unemployment and foster creativity, a three-day skill acquisition workshop will take place from November 16 to 18, 2025. Participants will receive hands-on training in the production of Vaseline, Air Freshener and Liquid Soap, empowering them with entrepreneurial skills that can be used for self-reliance and income generation.
Football Competition:
As part of efforts to promote unity and sportsmanship, a football tournament will also hold, providing a platform for healthy competition and youth engagement within the community.
Rt. Hon. Adeyanju noted that the initiative underscores his commitment to human capital development and community empowerment. He reaffirmed that his leadership prioritizes programs that create opportunities, reduce idleness and inspire productivity among young people.
Stakeholders, community leaders, school administrators and youth groups have been encouraged to support and participate in the activities as part of a collective effort towards building a more vibrant and progressive Ipokia Local Government.
