Rt. Hon.Adeyanju Marks One Year in Office with Empowerment Drive, Scholarships, Skills Training and Sports Initiatives

The Legislative Leader of Ipokia Local Government, Rt. Hon. Akeem Alamu Adeyanju, widely known as Babaogbon has rolled out an extensive list of youth and community empowerment programs to commemorate his one year in office. The celebration reflects his continued commitment to education, economic upliftment and community development across Ifonyintedo Ward, TMnews report.
Speaking to TMnews, Rt. Hon. Adeyanju said that the anniversary will feature a series of impactful initiatives, ranging from educational support to livelihood enhancement and infrastructure improvement.
As part of the activities, secondary schools across Ifonyintedo Ward will participate in the Hon. Adeyanju Inter-School Quiz Competition holding on Monday, November 17, 2025. The competition is aimed at promoting academic excellence, teamwork and intellectual growth among students.
Also scheduled is a three-day Skills Acquisition Training for youths on the production of Vaseline, Air Freshener and Liquid Soap, from November 16 to 18, 2025. At the end of the training, participants will not only graduate with practical entrepreneurial knowledge, but will also receive start-up support to begin small-scale businesses.
To further uplift vulnerable groups and residents, Rt. Hon. Adeyanju will also embark on a broad empowerment distribution, which includes:
School writing materials and school bags for students
Scholarships for two students from SS1 to SS3
Gas cooking cylinders to support household sustainability
Agricultural sprayers for local farmers
Cash support to widows
Public Address System for community gatherings and events
Solar street lights installed in selected streets and communities to enhance security and night-time visibility
In addition, a Football Tournament will hold as part of the celebrations to promote unity, healthy competition and social bonding among the youths.
Rt. Hon. Adeyanju noted that these initiatives were carefully designed to address real community needs, strengthen self-reliance and create pathways for sustainable growth.
“Our focus is to uplift our people, empower our youths and ensure that no one is left behind,” he said. “This one-year anniversary is not just a celebration, but a reaffirmation of our commitment to meaningful development.”
Community leaders, school administrators, youth groups and the general public are encouraged to participate in and support the programs.
