The commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ may not have come at a better period than this season of unprecedented global pandemic. This period is also celebrated as feast of Passover or Hanukkah in some quartres in remembrance of the departure and deliverance of Israelites from the Biblical bondage of the Egyptians.

In Edo state, Nigeria, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi understands this season as"a time that is very symbolic and synonymous with sacrifice and selfless loving as we celebrate the invaluable gift of salvation that our Lord Jesus Christ brought to mankind".
This is what this man whom his people are expecting to be their governor share, when he decided to expand his annual Easter philanthropic gesture by embarking on massive distribution of food items, relief materials, safety equipments and public awareness to defeat the deadly Wuhan coronavirus.

He pointed out that "It is of no mere significance that this year's celebration falls within a period that the world as we know it is being threatened by the deadly coronavirus pandemic, also known as COVID-19".

Engr. Ogiemwonyi maintained that, though he has wants to realize his governorship under the platform of APC but  "the health and well-being of Edo people"  are of utmost importance to his ambition, hence the health and feeding programme.

Gratefully, the beneficiaries are full of prayers and thanks to   Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi for his kind gesture at period of national lockdown occasioned by coronavirus. One beneficiary, Victor Odion said "Engr. Chris was the first to start the health and safety campaign and now food and all these things to use while we stay at home"
But, the 'incoming governor' as many prefer to address him admonished the good people of Edo state, to "ensure as individuals to always show love in whatever position we find ourselves in, as the world would be a much better place, if we observe all protective measures even as we celebrate this special season".
