Rt. Hon. Adeyanju Celebrates One Year in Office with Empowerment Projects

The Legislative Leader of Ipokia Local Government, Rt. Hon. Akeem Alamu Adeyanju, popularly known as Babaogbon, has successfully concluded a comprehensive empowerment program marking his one year in office. The initiative, which spanned days of educational, economic and community-focused activities, further cemented his commitment to youth development and grassroots advancement across Ifonyintedo Ward.
Speaking after the completion of the activities, Rt. Hon. Adeyanju expressed gratitude to the community for their support over the past year, noting that the anniversary was not just a celebration, but a fulfilment of targeted interventions designed to improve lives and expand opportunities.
As part of the concluded anniversary program, secondary schools in the ward participated in the Hon. Adeyanju Inter-School Quiz Competition, aimed at stimulating academic excellence and intellectual growth. Students demonstrated impressive performances, with winners receiving educational materials and commendations.
The anniversary also featured a three-day Skills Acquisition Training, focused on the production of Vaseline, air freshener and liquid soap. Participants graduated with hands-on entrepreneurial knowledge and were supported with start-up kits to begin their own small-scale ventures.
In addition, the empowerment distribution carried out by Rt. Hon. Adeyanju provided a lifeline to various groups across the ward. Beneficiaries received items including:School writing materials and bags
Scholarships for two deserving students from SS1 to SS3
Gas cylinders for household support
Agricultural sprayers for farmers
Cash assistance for widows
A Public Address System for community events
Solar street lights installed in selected communities to boost security
A football tournament, held to promote unity and youth engagement, added excitement to the anniversary week and strengthened social ties.
Rt. Hon. Adeyanju said the completed programs were tailored to meet genuine community needs and foster long-term development.
“This one-year milestone is a reaffirmation of our dedication to progress. Our people deserve empowerment, opportunities and a government that listens. I am committed to ensuring sustainable development across our ward,” he said.
Community leaders, school representatives and residents applauded the lawmaker for what many described as a “purpose-driven anniversary” that prioritized service and impact.
