Ogun So-Safe Corps Apprehends Ex-Convict, Recover Stolen Motorcycles

In a press release from the State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, issued through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, it was revealed that the arrest occurred during a routine patrol by operatives of the Oke-Ogun Area Command.
The statement details that officers observed the suspect, Paul James, 32, an okada rider residing at 32 Fayegbami Street, Ileese-Awo, Abeokuta, behaving suspiciously along Igbo-Ora Road. When officers requested to see his motorcycle documents, James claimed he needed to retrieve them but subsequently failed to return.
Following a trail, officers located him in Idi-Ori, Abeokuta North Local Government Area, where they found another motorcycle in his possession. Upon interrogation, James confessed to stealing both motorcycles from Abule-Ilede in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, where his mother resides.
Additionally, Commander Ganzallo announced the arrest of James's accomplice, Alex Emmanuel, 31, from 16 Surulere Street, Ileese-Awo, Abeokuta. Emmanuel was reportedly involved in selling the stolen motorcycles to potential buyers.
During initial investigations, Paul James admitted to previous thefts, including a motorcycle theft in 2019 at Tobolo, which he sold to a man named Sulaiman at Ita-Oshin. He also acknowledged a theft in 2013 at the Ologun Eru Area in Ibadan, where he sold the motorcycle to a friend, Ifa Ogunlana.
The So-Safe Corps has recovered several items from the suspects, including two unregistered Bajaj motorcycles, one itel Android phone, and two smaller phones, all believed to have been stolen from Ibarapa North.
The suspects, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Zonal Dragon Tactical Unit at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, for further investigation and potential prosecution.
