Brutality mass actions with the clampdown on #Justicefor

We are palled that despite the unlawful and inhuman killing of Tiamiyu, a Remo Stars Football Club striker by an officer attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Ogun State Police Command, the protests mounted by residents of SAGAMU was repressed with live bullets leaving three people dead.
We hold that this is the height of infamy. We are aware of the attempt of the Inspector General of Police to divert attention by announcing the shutdown of Sattelite Offices of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and take over of the matter by the Deputy Inspector General of Police , Zone 2.
We hold that these overtures are belated. We call for mass actions on the ground nationwide to demand for:
1. Open prosecution of the officer involved in the killing of Tiamiyu and other officers involved in similar killings across the country.
2. Shutdown of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad .
3. Open and democratic inquiry into the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
4. Democratically elected community committees to monitor police activities.
5. Review of pay, housing and living conditions of police officers.
6. Right of police officers to a trade union.
7. Rejection of jumbo pay increase for elected politicians! All politicians to be on a living wage! Mass job creation for the unemployed.
