The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele has charged Muslim women across the State to set good examples and always propagate the tenets of Islam to the Society, as part of their contributions to building a healthy nation.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele gave this charge while declaring open the 2nd Annual National Dawah Conference, South-West Zone, Edo, Kwara and Kogi States of the Federation of Muslim Women's Association (FOMWAN) with the theme, " Da'wah: A Tool for Sanitizing the Societal Menace", held at Ansar-U-Deen Central Mosque Hall, Adedotun, Abeokuta.

While commending the Amira of Ogun State, Alhaja Kudirat Rabiu, for her contribution in putting FOMWAN in the front burner, she said it was important as Dawah officers to be equipped with the right information and tools so as to be effective, adding they must make quality their watchword as expected of Muslim women.

"We have the responsibilities to be good examples in the society, as Muslim women and role models in our work places and to our children, so we can propagate the religion in the best way possible’’, she stated.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion and Baba Adinni of Yoruba land, Alhaji  Sarafa Tunji Ishola, said women should promote the cause of Islam among their children and the society at large, charging them to raise God-fearing children who would make great impacts in life.

Earlier in her welcome address, the National Amira of FOMWAN, Hajia Halima Jubrin, represented by the Deputy National Amira, Alhaja Rofi'ah Sanni, pointed out that FOMWAN was the mouthpiece for Moslem women and children in Nigeria, recognised by the Federal Government.

She added that the gathering was an avenue to learn about the tenets of Islam and do self-examination, noting that, ‘’as major stakeholders in the Society, women must not fail, as they hold up to 90 percent of responsibilities in the Society’’.
