The Kano police have rescued nine children kidnapped in State and trafficked to Onitsha in Anambra, also, in the last one month, arrested 124 suspected criminals for various offences and recovered arms, ammunition and stolen items. All Suspects confessed their offences
“A syndicate perpetuating this heinous act was busted and Eight (8) suspects that specialized in kidnapping, concealment and keeping in confinement kidnapped persons, buying and selling of minors and trafficking in persons were tracked and arrested.

The command Commissioners, CP Ahmed Iliyasu while addressing a press conference on Friday, said the command’s Tactical Teams of Operation Puff Adder were detailed for a discreet investigation, deploying community policing tools in rescuing the minors.

 He further that "This gallant determination has paid off, with the arrest of a total of 124 suspects before, during and after the Independent day celebration.

"On the 25/09/2019 at about 2200hrs a report of organised kidnapping was reported by one Buhari Rabiu ‘m’ of Medile Sheka Quarters, Kano, that his son, one Abubakar Buhari, aged 2 years 6 months old, was kidnapped by unknown person(s)" Iliyasu stated.

The operatives tactically tracked down one Buhari Na’Ali, a 22-year-old neighbour of the complainant at Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, following which,  the little Abubakar was rescued at the School of Health Technology, Ningi.

"On interrogation, the suspect confessed to had conspired with one Ibrahim Ahmed 'm', 20 years old of Medile Sheka Quarters, Kumbotso and Mubarak Girard, ‘m’, aged 23 years old, all of Ningi LGA Bauchi State. The three suspects were arrested and they confessed to had conspired to kidnap the little for a ransom of N160, 000.

Recovered from the suspects was the sum of N124, 700, as well as the handset with which they committed the crime. Other achievements  recorded, according to the police boss, were:"On 27/9/2019, at about 1109hrs, operatives of SARS Kano, while on patrol along Maiduguri Road by Mariri, intercepted a Golf III car loaded with five (5) big and three smaller bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. When the driver sighted the patrol team, he abandoned the car with the content and took his on his heels.

"On 21/9/2019, a tactical team of Operation Puff-Adder attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Kano while on surveillance patrol along Kwanar Dangora and Falgore forest, raided kidnappers hideout and recovered 7 AK 47 Rifles, 3 pump action guns and 5 locally made guns.
"On 25/9/2019, at about 1500hrs, operatives attached to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Kano, while on surveillance patrol along Zaria Road, Kano by Bauren Tanko, a Toyota Sienna, on high speed conveying some bags overtook them, in the process, three of the bags fell off. Even at that, the driver felt unconcerned and sped off. When the operatives checked the bags, they discovered both live and expired 9.62 ammunition . Investigation.

"On 18/9/2019, at about 2300hrs, based on creditable information, operatives attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), while on patrol along Nassarawa GRA, Kano, arrested the following suspects (1) Abdulkadir Muktar (2) Mohammad Abubakar (3) Shuaibu Mohammad (4) Surajo Usman (5) Bello Mohammad (6) Musa Ibrahim and (7) Yahaya Bashir in connection with a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Armed Robbery and snatching of motor vehicle. Suspects confessed to the crime and led to the recovery of the following vehicles: - (1) one unregistered Toyota Hilux Jeep, ash colour (2) one unregistered Toyota Camry, golden colour (3) one unregistered Toyota Camry golden colour (4) one unregistered Golf wagon, blue in colour (5) one unregistered Toyota Corolla, ash colour, Case under investigation.

"On 2/09/2019, at about 1400hrs, based on creditable information, operatives attached to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Kano, while on surveillance patrol along Laraban Abasawa Gezawa LGA, Kano, arrested one Abubakar Musa ’m’  aged 30 years and Junaidu Ali ‘m’ aged 27 years of Hotoro Quarters,  Kano, in connection with  a case of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and attempt to commit an offence. Suspects confessed to have attacked one Hamisu Ali, a tricyclist with a knife. The suspects were later chased and arrested with the tricycle and they confessed to the crime. Case under investigation. 

"On 20/09/2019, at about 1730hrs, based on credible information, operatives attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Kano, while on surveillance patrol at Katsina Road by Kiran Village, Ungogo LGA, Kano arrested one Isa Jibrin ‘m’, who has a dual residence in Gombe State and Zango Yanmudubi quarters, Kano. The suspect confessed to the crime and led to the recovery of the following vehicles (1) one unregistered, ash colour 4matic Mercedes Benz , one Golf III with Taxi Colour registration No. AW 485 NSR and some number plates.

"On 20/9/2019 at about 1330 hrs, based on credible information operatives attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), Kano, while on surveillance patrol along Maiduguri Road, Sabon-Gari, Kano, arrested the following suspects (1) Ishaq Yusha’u ‘m’, aged 35 years, of Kurna Asabe Quarters, Kano (2) Umar Ibrahim ‘m’, aged 27 years, of Gombe State and two others in connection with a case of theft of motor vehicle. Suspects confessed to the crime and led to the recovery of one Toyota Sienna, and seven  other brands of motor vehicles.

“Parents should be very watchful and avoid what will leave them in perpetual agony. The kidnappers are on the prowl. They will just kidnap today, board luxurious bus the next day and sell off children for slavery" he added.
