While we appreciate the press releases by the State Government and the PPRO in the two cases, the PCRC hereby call for calm and decorum on the part of the citizens to allow for an unhindered and independent investigations into the two incidences and others related there with.
According to the statement signed by its State Deputy Chairman, Ven Dr Samson Kunle Popoola jp, "the PCRC as an advocate of peaceful synergy of the community and the police will not shy away from their responsibility of protecting the interest of the public as it relates to their safety, dignity and sanctity of life and properties".
"We there fore plead that the public and all directly affected by the recent happenings to allow the State Government and the Police authorities to do a thorough investigation and not take the laws into our hands"
"The AIG Zone 2, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu and the present commissioner of Police in Ogun State CP Kenneth Ebrimson and members of their management teams and field officers are thorough bred professionals with zero tolerance for unprofessional conducts by any officer and men under their direct supervision. It is in the light of this that the Pcrc calls for calm and peace in all our local communities and interest groups with a resounding assurance that all culprits found wanting will be brought to justice".
"Ogun State is noted for peace and maturity in handling issues of this nature and this will not be an exception".
"The leadership of PCRC in Ogun State is in constant touch with the Police high command and assure us that all investigations and the results and findings will be made public in due course".
