SC AFEEZ FATAI BAGS INTELLIGENT OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD, DEDICATES HONOUR TO CGC ADENIYI 

A Superintendent of Customs, SC Afeez Fatai, serving with the ICT Department of the Nigeria Customs Service in Tincan Command, Lagos has been honoured with the Intelligent Customs Officer of the Year Award at the 12th Annual TMnews Summit and Awards 2025, held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island.

The prestigious summit, which attracted an array of high-profile personalities from the security sector, traditional institutions, government establishments and the business community, focused on the theme: “Securing Our Future: A Collaborative Approach to Community Safety.”
The event underscored the fact that national stability and safety can only be sustained through collective responsibility across all sectors.

SC Afeez Fatai’s recognition comes as a testament to his outstanding commitment, professional diligence, and innovative contributions to strengthening ICT driven operations within the Nigeria Customs Service, particularly in Tincan command, one of the nation’s busiest command centers.

In his acceptance speech, SC Fatai humbly dedicated the award to the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Adewale Adeniyi, describing him as a visionary leader whose reforms have continued to reposition the Service for transparency, efficiency, and modern operational standards.

"This honour is not just mine. I dedicate it to our Comptroller-General, CGC Adeniyi, whose leadership has reshaped our operational systems. His dedication to reform and capacity building has provided officers like us the enabling environment to excel,” he stated.

He further expressed gratitude to DCG ICT K.I Adeola, his colleagues and the entire Nigeria Customs Service family for their support, pledging to remain unwavering in his service to the nation.

The award not only celebrates personal achievement but also reflects the ongoing transformation within the Nigeria Customs Service which is anchored on innovation, accountability and excellence under the current leadership.
