The promotions form part of a batch of 923 officers who successfully passed a rigorous and transparent assessment conducted by the Police Service Commission, comprising written examinations and interviews, following recommendations by the Inspector General of Police.

The ceremony drew prominent dignitaries, including former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South, Senator Simon Lalong, Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri; former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdul-Aziz Yari, Senator Dr. Tony Nwoye (Anambra North); Senator Iya Abbas (Adamawa Central); and Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central). Also present were senior government officials, serving and retired police chiefs, members of the Force Management Team and family members of the decorated officers.
