Lagos Police Probe Viral Video of Excel College Students
The Lagos State Police Command has begun an investigation into a viral video showing students of Excel College, Ejigbo, allegedly drinking, smoking, and dancing inside the boys’ hostel.
Although the incident reportedly took place in April 2025, the video only surfaced online recently, sparking public outrage and condemnation.The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, to take over the case from the Ejigbo Police Division, which had earlier invited the school’s principal for questioning.
The principal, who also doubles as the proprietor, told police that the students featured in the video had graduated from the school. He assured investigators that the management is cooperating fully with the authorities to clarify the circumstances and prevent a repeat of such misconduct.
Police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the outcome of the investigation would be made public.
The Command urged school authorities, parents, and guardians across the state to intensify supervision of students and instill discipline, warning that irresponsible behavior among youths could provoke public anger and disrupt peace in society.
