Ogun Police Command Deploys Personnel Ahead of Bye-Election

The Ogun State Police Command has announced the deployment of a substantial number of personnel in preparation for the upcoming Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency Bye-Election, scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, TMnews report 

During a briefing for election duty officers at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, emphasized the critical importance of professionalism, civility, and neutrality in the execution of their duties. The Command has collaborated with various security agencies and has received additional manpower from the Zone 2 Command in Lagos to establish robust security measures aimed at preventing election-related violence and ensuring a safe environment before, during, and after the election.

Voters are urged to adhere strictly to electoral laws to facilitate a credible and transparent election. Activities such as campaigning, vote-buying, distributing flyers, or displaying political stickers at polling areas are strictly prohibited.

In preparation for the election day, movement in areas where voting will occur will be restricted from midnight to 4 PM on August 16, 2025. Police patrol vehicles, stop-and-search teams, and other operational units will be strategically positioned to ensure a seamless electoral process.

The Ogun State Police Command calls for the cooperation of all voters and warns individuals with malicious intentions to steer clear of polling units, stating that any attempts to disrupt the electoral process will face decisive action.
