Ogun APC Chairman, Sanusi Commends INEC and Governor Abiodun After Bye-Election Victory
ABEOKUTA, NIGERIA —
The Chairman of the Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Yemi Sanusi, has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a "diligent, free, and fair" election, describing it as a "manifestation of an unbiased electoral umpire."
In a statement to journalists, Chief Sanusi also acknowledged the efforts of all security agencies for their support to INEC and the electorate in maintaining peace and order throughout the election process.
He extended his congratulations to the party's leaders and the new National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for the victories achieved in various constituencies during the bye-elections.
Sanusi emphasized that these wins are a clear reflection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's relentless "Renewed Hope Agenda." "We, the entire leaders and members of APC in Ogun State, commend His Excellency for this achievement," he stated.
In a similar vein, he congratulated Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on the victory. He highlighted that while the entire state is the governor's constituency, the Remo Federal Constituency is his "primary constituency" and "source." Sanusi noted that the governor's "Building Our Future Together Agenda" has positively impacted the people.
Addressing the opposition, Chief Sanusi remarked that while every competition has its winners and losers, some "sore losers" in this region do not accept defeat gracefully. He urged them to be "good sports" and to express their grievances through legitimate means.
Finally, he congratulated the winner of the bye-election and advised her to be "humble in victory" and to embrace her co-contestants as partners in nation-building.
