Ogun State Government has urged members of the Performing Musician Association of Nigeria, (PMAN), to communicate positively and meaningfully with their music and avoid corrupting the future generations, as government would not hesitate to ban any musician, whose song does not conform with the set standard and laws.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo FIIM stated this while receiving executive members of PMAN, Ogun State Chapter, led by its President, Alhaji Saheed Bolomope, at the Conference Room of the Ministry in Abeokuta, saying the present administration in the State recognises the role of the association in the promotion of government activities and creating awareness for Covid-19 and measures to combat it.

Dr.  Taiwo said the Ministry, as the regulatory body would synergise with PMAN, by creating enabling environment and promoting its activities at the grassroots, towards ensuring survival of its members.

In her remark, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi advised members of the group to be proactive in their profession and support government in building a better society.

Speaking earlier, Secretary of the Association, Comrade Samuel Balogun described music as ‘’a therapy that calms and vitalises people, a means of communication, especially to people at the grassroots’’, promising members’ readiness to project and propagate government activities through music.
