LOCKDOWN: OGUN COMMISSIONER, EX-DEPUTY GOV DONATE PALLIATIVES TO RESIDENTS

The Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Emmanuel Oluwatoyin Taiwo JP, FIIM and a former deputy governor in the State, Alhaja Salmot Makanjuola Badru have donated relief materials to indigenes and residents of Ipokia Local Government.

Dr. Taiwo, while presenting the items to Ipokia Local Government Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Abolurin Kabiru, said that the items which consist of 1200 pieces of face masks, 120 cartons of noodles, 24 bags of garri, and bags of rice was donated as part of their philanthropic gesture as indigenes of the local government and to boost the palliatives given by the government  to cushion the effect of the lockdown occasioned by covid 19 pandemic.

The Commissioner who stated that the face masks was included due to the law by the State Government which made it mandatory for everyone to wear a face mask in the public, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, advised the people to adhere strictly to all covid 19 preventive measures.

“In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, it is pertinent that you wear a face mask if it is compulsory for you to go out, and if not, stay at home in order to stay safe, practice all the preventive measures and do all you can, not to contract and spread the pandemic ravaging the world,” he advised.
Hon. Kabiru, after receiving the relief items appreciated the State Government, Dr. Taiwo and Alhaja Badru for their humanitarian gestures to the community, assuring them of even distribution without fear or favour.
