The Corps Commandant and Chief Executive Officer, Ogun State Traffic and Compliance Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi has lauded the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the good gesture of absorbing about 2000 new entrants into the State workforce, with payment of their nine months’ salary.

Speaking with Journalists in Abeokuta, Ogunyemi, advised TRACE officers, who were also beneficiaries to reciprocate this gesture by being diligent, vigilant, visible and always at alert, to ensure free flow of traffic, stressing that traffic management was dynamic and officers must make sure they use their discretions.

In the same vein, the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Traffic Law Enforcement Corps (TRACE) boss, commander Adekunle Ajibade said the payment of salary for the recruited 'ASCON' has improved manpower and productivity in the work force, saying ‘’the corps can now be found twenty-four hours on our roads’’.

He explained that, there has been a major improvement in the area of traffic control, reductions on road casualties and corps performances have been greatly enhanced, adding that this gesture has started yielding results in terms of efficiency and productivity.

A beneficiary, Commander Rotimi Odunlami said it has been his ambition to serve humanity which made him to quit a white collar job in Lagos and engage in traffic control, to ensure free flow of traffic and enlightening the motorists on the proper road usage.

"It would have been a disaster, if our governor has laid us off, but the governor is so magnanimous, to regularise our appointments, paid all the arrears, this has built confidence, in the newly recruited "ASCON" officers and the entire workforce in Ogun State", Odunlami stated.

Also speaking, a beneficiary, commander, Kafayat Tiamiu thanked his Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun for this good deed, advising beneficiaries to justify their appointments by contributing their quotas to "Building Our Future Together’’ agenda and strictly adhering to the rules and regulations of Civil Service.
