IGP Disu’s Vision Drives Kano Police Reforms as CP Bakori Extends Strategic Engagement Tour

The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori has extended his strategic engagement tour to officers and personnel of the Hotoro, Tarauni and Eastern Bypass Area Commands as part of efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness, discipline and public confidence in the Police Force.
He emphasized the need for officers to treat members of the public with respect, uphold fundamental human rights and operate strictly within the confines of the law. He also directed personnel to respond promptly to distress calls, ensure accountability in the use of force, sustain visible policing through patrols and targeted operations and maintain zero tolerance for corruption, extortion, and other forms of misconduct.
Speaking on ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force, the Commissioner highlighted welfare initiatives being championed by the Inspector-General of Police, including improved welfare packages, enhanced insurance coverage and better retirement benefits aimed at boosting officers' morale and productivity.
CP Bakori noted that residents of Kano State have continued to demonstrate support for the Police and urged officers to reciprocate through selfless service, professionalism and stronger community engagement.
He further reiterated the commitment of the Force leadership to a policing model anchored on intelligence gathering, accountability and partnership with communities, stressing that officers must see themselves as protectors and partners of the people rather than adversaries.
The interactive session also provided an opportunity for officers to present operational challenges and receive direct guidance from the Command leadership.
The Kano State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to delivering professional, accountable and community-oriented policing in line with the strategic direction of the Inspector-General of Police.
