DC Shehu Alao Named New Signatory for Police Character Certificate

The change in official signatory for the issuance of Police Character Certificates has been announced following the appointment of DCP Shehu Alao as the acting Commissioner of Police in charge of the Central Criminal Registry (CCR), FCID Annex, Alagbon.
According to an official notice, DC Alao will now serve as the Central Registrar, a role that confers on him the responsibility of endorsing all Police Character Certificates issued nationwide.
The development marks a routine administrative update within the Force, aimed at ensuring proper documentation and maintaining the integrity of the certification process. The Police Character Certificate, a vital document often required for employment, travel and other formal engagements, verifies an individual’s criminal record status.
With his new designation, DCP Alao assumes a critical position in overseeing the authentication and issuance of the certificates, reinforcing the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to standardised and credible record-keeping.
