Ogunsan Visits IGP Disu, Commends Welfare Drive, Police Reforms

The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where he lauded the police chief’s leadership style, welfare initiatives and ongoing institutional reforms.
The LSSTF boss particularly commended the IGP’s people-oriented leadership, highlighting recent efforts to improve the welfare of officers and men of the Force. He referenced the disbursement of N2.4 billion to families of fallen officers as a demonstration of compassion and institutional responsibility, adding that such initiatives would significantly boost morale within the Force.
Ogunsan also praised the ongoing reform agenda under Disu’s leadership, describing it as bold and forward-looking. He noted that the recent promotion of 84 senior officers, including 13 Assistant Inspectors-General and 17 Commissioners of Police, reflects a commitment to merit, career progression and professional development.
He further emphasized that the renewed focus on discipline, accountability and exemplary leadership across ranks would play a critical role in rebuilding public trust and enhancing operational effectiveness within the Nigeria Police Force.
Reaffirming its support, Ogunsan said the LSSTF remains committed to strengthening its partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in the areas of modern policing infrastructure and community-based security initiatives.
In his response, IGP Disu expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the Lagos State Government for its sustained support to policing efforts. He reiterated his commitment to prioritizing personnel welfare, deepening reforms and strengthening discipline within the Force, assuring Nigerians of improved safety and security across the country.
