Mercy Alexander Foundation Empowers Widows, Women and Street Hawkers

It was a moment of unending joy and heartfelt celebration at the Land of Flourish Tabernacle, Ajuwon-Akute, as the Alexander Mercy Foundation, founded by renowned media personality and philanthropist Mercy Alexander, brought smiles to the faces of over a hundred widows through a life-changing empowerment outreach held on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

The event, held at 6 Mercy Estate, before Access Bank, Ajuwon, was designed to uplift, encourage, and empower widows who have faced life’s toughest challenges. The outreach featured inspiring messages, skill support, financial empowerment, and distribution of food items, leaving participants deeply moved and filled with renewed hope.

In addition, the Alexander Mercy Foundation extended its humanitarian gesture to street hawkers across Akute and its environs, with Mercy Alexander personally joining in the outreach rally to reach beneficiaries directly.

Earlier, on Sunday, October 5, the foundation had empowered a large number of women at the same venue with business start-up capital, clothing materials, food items, and other forms of financial support further demonstrating its ongoing commitment to women’s development and economic independence.

Speaking at the event, Mercy Alexander reaffirmed her passion for touching lives and inspiring women to rise above limitations.

“Empowerment begins when a woman discovers her worth. Every woman deserves to live a life of joy, purpose, and dignity,” she said.

Beneficiaries could not contain their excitement as they received financial assistance, business tools, and food items. Many described the outreach as a divine visitation and an answered prayer.

The General Overseer of Land of Flourish Tabernacle, Apostle Chidi Shedrach, commended Mercy Alexander for her humility, generosity, and dedication to humanity.

“Mercy Alexander has shown what true service to humanity looks like. Her heart for women and widows is inspiring,” he remarked.

The event concluded in an atmosphere of thanksgiving, with songs, laughter, and testimonies of renewed faith and hope. Smiles lit the faces of participants as they expressed gratitude, declaring that their joy will indeed never end.
