Femi Fasehun: Misleading The Court and Deceiving The Nigerian Police

The Egunaye family in validating their legal right in the ownership of a property located at No. 10, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Lagos, through a Supreme Court judgment, in it verdict, affirming their title and ownership of the property, amid an ongoing litigation with the Fasehun Estate, which also has been the subject of multiple legal proceedings for over 15 years.

This dispute originated from the contention and frivolous claims from the Mr. Femi Fasehun, who allegedly claims that the land was inherited from his father.

The Egunaye family filed a petition to the Nigeria Police through the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 2, Zonal Police Headquarters, for an investigation on the dispute arising from the subject matter.

Consequently, the investigation was led by CSP Taofik Tijani assigned to the Zone 2 Zonal Police Headquarters.
The Egunaye family is rebutting all allegations of misconduct or overreaching by law enforcement agency, but further states that Mr. Fasehun's legal team has presented a false and misleading narrative, hereby omitting vital context.

The Egunaye family is urging all parties to respect the rule of law and allow the courts to reach a final and binding decision without resorting to media sensationalism or attempts to politicize routine legal enforcement. Aare Tomori Williams has said reacting to recent Femi Fasehun petition to the Inspector General of Police.

Mr. Femi Fasehun petitioned the Inspector General of Police in a matter under investigation, "alleging a gross abuse of power and professional misconduct by officers of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Monitoring Unit of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos".

The police in reaction, launched an investigation into this matter, but in it findings, it was revealed that there's an existing court ruling, which directed all parties to maintain status quo. However, Mr. Olufemi Fasehun who is seeking equity but failing to do equity, had failed to complied with the ruling of the court, but resuming construction on site and various stages of constructions were documented as evidence, to avoid physical confrontation.

Furthermore, the lead investigating Police Officer, CSP Taofik Tijani in an attempt to preserve the res and maintain the rule of law, acting on the interlocutory order of court in the matter filed at the High Court of Lagos state, in Suit No. ID/11239LMW/2021 between Olufemi Fasehun v. Cletus Nwagwu & Ors, which directed all parties to maintain the status quo, sealed off the said property where it was discovered that construction was ongoing despite the Order of Court.

The statutory responsibility of the Nigeria Police Force in the issue as presented is to prevent the breakdown of Law and Order, but avail parties an opportunity to present whatever issues arising therefrom.

Several invitations had been issued to Mr. Olufemi Fasehun, but same had been rebuffed by Olufemi Fasehun, and/or his legal representatives, Goldrush Partners. Aare Tomori Williams told Aiyekooto Reporters
