African Drums Take Center Stage At UK Cultural Events

Renowned theatre practitioner and master percussionist Adeniyi Olusola Morolahun, widely known as Eyinju Olodumare – The Abuletic King, is leaving an indelible mark across the United Kingdom with his powerful performances that blend African drumming, folklore, and storytelling, TMnews report
Adeniyi, the cultural torchbearer behind the Abuletic brand, brings the soul of Nigeria to international platforms, using rhythm and heritage as a bridge between continents. With mastery over more than 35 African drums, including the iconic Dùndún (talking drum), Batá, Gángan, Omele, and Sakara, his artistry transcends mere performance—it becomes a spiritual, educational, and therapeutic experience.
Cultural Values Event – Aylesbury, London

One of the highlights of his recent UK engagements was at “Cultural Values”, an immersive event hosted by DEEN CONSULT SERVICES in partnership with TACC at The African Cultural Centre, Aylesbury. Here, Adeniyi captivated an intergenerational audience with drumming techniques rooted in Yoruba cosmology and oral history.
“The event emphasized the importance of African storytelling, traditions, and cultural identity,” Adeniyi noted. “It drew participants from various backgrounds to engage with the richness of African heritage.”
Through his interactive session, the Abuletic King demonstrated how African drums are not just musical instruments, but ancestral tools of communication, healing, and community bonding.

ALẸ ASA Cultural Night – Northampton

At ALẸ ASA, a vibrant cultural night organized by DAC Promotions at Palace Café, Northampton, Adeniyi again took center stage, leading an interactive drumming session that turned passive listeners into active participants.

Attendees not only heard the drums—they touched, played, and felt their resonance. The night underscored how drumming serves as a powerful tool for emotional healing and mindfulness, a traditional therapy long embedded in African communities.

Echo of Africa & Costume Exhibition 2025 – Rochdale

On 29 March 2025, Adeniyi brought history alive at the Echo of Africa & Costume Exhibition, themed “A Journey through Culture & Heritage”, organized by the Nigeria Community Association, Rochdale. His role went beyond the stage—he guided attendees through the historical significance of the exhibited costumes and artifacts, narrating ancestral customs and cultural origins with poetic depth.

Spreading Rhythms Across the UK

The Abuletic King has continued to spread the essence of African rhythm across the UK, with recent appearances including:
•    Utamaduni Day @ Upton Park (SL3 7LU) on 24 May 2025
•    Afrofusion Experience Live with TBaze at Milton Keynes Gallery, also on 24 May 2025

Each performance is a cultural revelation, drawing connections between Nigeria’s traditional heritage and the UK’s multicultural audiences.

Cultural Commentators Applaud His Work

“Adeniyi Olusola Morolahun’s contributions to African cultural preservation and promotion have extended beyond performances,” said Olalekan Otun, a media and culture commentator.
“Through the Abuletic brand, he continues to advocate for African music, storytelling, and drumming traditions, ensuring these art forms remain relevant and appreciated across generations.”

From Nigeria to the World – A Cultural Ambassador

Rooted in his Nigerian heritage and inspired by his Yoruba lineage, Adeniyi is not only a performer—he is a custodian of African memory. His journey from local stages in Nigeria to international platforms in the UK symbolizes a broader mission: to ensure that African stories, rhythms, and identities echo loudly in global conversations.

Through his Abuletic movement, Adeniyi Olusola Morolahun is not only drumming for applause—he is drumming for legacy.
