CSP Akeem Babatunde Ahmed Honoured as Outstanding Crime Buster of the Year

Lagos, Nigeria – Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Akeem Babatunde Ahmed, a Lagos prince and seasoned officer of the Nigeria Police Force, has been honoured with the prestigious title of Outstanding Crime Buster of the Year at the 11th Annual TMnews Summit and Awards 2024.

The event, held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, brought together eminent personalities from across security, governance, business, and civil society to recognize individuals and institutions who have made significant contributions to national development.

CSP Ahmed’s recognition was anchored on his relentless fight against crime, advocacy for community-oriented policing, and his commitment to discipline, professionalism, and integrity within the Nigeria Police Force.

Beyond enforcement, he has been praised for balancing firmness with compassion, ensuring that policing under his watch remains not only effective but also humane and respectful of human rights. His innovative approach to crime prevention and his mentorship of younger officers were highlighted as key reasons for his selection.

Over the years, CSP Ahmed has held several critical command and administrative roles within the Force, including serving as Second-in-Command, Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Lagos, Unit Commander, PMF, and currently at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters Annex, Obalende, Lagos.

Internationally, he is an associate member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (USA), the International Homicide Investigators Association (USA), and a member of Best Diplomats (USA).

Speaking at the ceremony, organizers of the TMnews Summit and Awards commended CSP Ahmed for “his exceptional leadership in supporting security operations, fostering trust between law enforcement and the public, and redefining modern policing through innovation and discipline.”

The award adds to his growing list of accolades, reinforcing his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most respected law enforcement officers.
