The attention of Idiroko community had been drawn to a deformative news and postulations making round the internet and social media about a purported clash between Oro worshippers and Muslim community in Idiroko, Ogun State.
We here distance ourselves from such unlawful activity and Idiroko being a peaceful, friendly and law abiding community would not under any circumstances indulge in activities that would endanger lives and properties of her constituents. Prior to the court verdict that bounded the activities of Oro festival to be performed between the hours of 12:00am to 4:00am haven’t been compromised or nullified in any way, as it’s with shock to receive the mere speculations on any form of attack on the Muslim community has claimed to be false. Nobody had gone against the court order during the celebration to disrupt the business activities, vehicular movements or anyone going about their lawful businesses during this period of celebration.
Furthermore, we would like to state it authoritatively that no form of broad daylight celebration had been observed as students writing their NECO exams haven’t been stopped from going for their exams as enough publicity had been done in this regard.
Therefore, we implore members of the public to disregard aggressively any news making around about any form of misconduct during the Oro festival.
