The Chief Judge of Ogun State, Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu has promised to reposition the Customary Court system in the State to meet world standard and be one of the best in the country.
Giving this assurance at the commissioning of a Customary Court in Ososa and the tenth coronation anniversary of Gbegande of Ososa, Ijebuland, HRH Oba Adetoye Mojeed Alatishe, Dipeolu said the entire judiciary system would be digitalised, thereby making it a 21st century compliant institution.
Represented by the State President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Mobolaji Ojo, the Chief Judge maintained that a technology-driven Court, firmly and deeply committed to the preservation of cultural heritage would be put in place.
"We have received firm assurance from the Executive Arm of Government that arrangements are in top gear to fully digitise the operations of our superior courts, including the Customary Court of Appeal", she said
Dipeolu said this development would be a step in the right direction, as the Customary Court of Appeal, being an appellate court, was the most suited for deploying technology for its operations, saying plan was underway to replicate the gesture at the Customary Court, to uplift justice delivery at that level.
She appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for his continued support for the State judiciary and also making it an important component of the "Building Our Future Together" agenda of his administration.
Justice Dipeolu while rejoicing with Oba Alatishe on his coronation anniversary, lauded him for donating the edifice on behalf of the Ososa Community, saying, he donated the building for the State Judiciary to serve as the Customary Court.
In his welcome address, the Gbegande of Ososa, said the 10th anniversary would not be completed without donating the structure for the Customary Court, expressing delight in the commissioning by the Chief Judge of the State and the President, Customary Court of Appeal.
He said he was particularly glad and humble for the essential addition of a Grade 1 Customary Court to the landscape of the town, Ososa, promising his willingness to always provide necessary logistics.
