TRACE TASKS OPERATIVES ON MOTORISTS EXCESSES AT PALLIATIVE WORKING ZONES

 The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), has charged it personnels to redouble their efforts in checking excesses of motorists and ensure free-flow of traffic especially where palliative works are ongoing in the state.

The Corps' Commander of TRACE, 'Seni Ogunyemi, made the charge in an interview with some journalist in Abeokuta the state capital on Tuesday.

Ogunyemi stressed the need for personnel to intensify efforts to check excesses and ensure sanity at the ongoing palliative measures areas of the state in order to safe lives and reduce gridlocks.

He listed such areas to include: Iganmade Grammar School, General Hospital,along Sango /Idiroko road, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, between Ita Oshin and Akinale town among others.

"Some of the crashes that claimed lives had been attributed to the excesses and impatience of motorists, leading to driving against the traffic.

"We cannot continue to allow innocent people to be killed and wasted due to excesses and impatience of motorists at the palliative zones", TRACE boss said.

It would be recalled that no fewer than four persons were killed by two different fatal accidents which were attributed to driving against traffic on Sango/Idiroko road between Sunday and Monday.

The TRACE boss enjoined personnel to collaborate with all sister agencies to ensure that motorists adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations to avoid unnecessary and avoidable crashes.
