Farouk Adeniyi Akintunde who is aspiring for the Chairman Abeokuta South Local Government in the coming Local Council Election has said that the Abeokuta South L.G shouldn’t just be regarded as the Pioneer but should be transformed into a seat of authority that dictates the pace, also to set the standard for others which will make it to be the most preferred for business opportunity amidst its peers.
Farouk who was born into the familiy of Chief and Mrs Akintunde of Seriki’s compound, Isale Ijeun Abeokuta, attended Lisabi Grammar School in the same Abeokuta and was made the senior prefect at his final year. He proceeded for Tertiary Education and obtained Higher National Diploma in Business Administration.
As a Business Administrator, he was opportuned to work with several Organizations as an Administrator.
His passion is to see a better Nigeria and this led him into politics though he have been introduced to it by his late father who was the chairman of the largest Political Ward in Abeokuta South Local Government Area, also the chairman of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN).
Farouk Akintunde served in various political and leadership positions within and outside Ogun State. Between 1993-2003, he served as a special adviser on Political matters and chieftaincy affairs before he was made the Chairman Conference of Local Government Special Advisers in Ogun State due to his commitment and doggedness.
He proceeded in his career and served as the consultant on Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) between 2007 and 2010. In addition, he was made the Chairman of the Conference of Local Government consultant where he advocated for the incorporation of consultant into the Ogun State Local Government Law.
During the 2019 General election, he was appointed to serve as the Chairman for Dapo Abiodun Campaign Movement in Abeokuta South, also as a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council headed by former Governor Raji Fashola. However, he was also the Ogun state coordinator for Buhari Project 4+4.
As a grassroot man, his life and personal experience has revealed to him that anyone can rise to become something if given the right environment, value and opportunity to operate.
Mind you, his utmost desire is to give Abeokuta South Local Government an enabling environment that will make it to excel and stand out amidst its peers in Ogun state and all over Nigeria being the Pioneer Local Government while blazing new trials for the Government that comes after regardless of background or foundation.

Farouk further stated in this interview that "with permision to humbly present myself to serve as the candidate for the position of Council Chairman of our dear Local Government in the forthcoming Local Government Election. My fellow citizens, the mandate is yours and you hold all the aces. Thus, I seek your support to make this dream a reality that we will speak of with fond memories decades down the line. I look forward to engaging you in further conversation towards building a better tomorrow for us all" he added.
