Chinese firm commemorates Children's Day with football contest

China-Africa Investment FZC, the management company of the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone (OGFTZ), has organised a football contest for 18 government primary and secondary schools across the Igbesa and Ejila Awori communities in Ogun State in commemoration of the Children’s Day.
Mr. Cai Fanguan, Assistant  Manager of China-Africa Investment FZC, said:
“This event is not just about football. It is a platform to promote teamwork, discipline, and community spirit, while celebrating the energy and potential of our children. In continuation of our educational support, today’s donation of musical instruments will help address the long-standing need for functional assembly equipment in all 18 public schools across Igbesa and Ejila."
Oba Teslim Nasir, the Olodan of Odan Abuja, added:
"OGFTZ has been intentional in supporting development in all aspects, especially in education. I encourage all students to take their studies seriously and make the most of opportunities like this."
The pupils received gifts, ensuring no child left without a token of joy.
Awards were presented to the highest goal scorers, while medals were distributed to players on the winning teams in the primary and secondary school categories.
The event was attended by other traditional rulers, community leaders, and top officials from the Ado/Odo/Ota Local Government Education Authority, led by the Education Secretary. Their presence reflected a shared commitment to empowering the younger generation through meaningful initiatives.
Over the years, OGFTZ has maintained a strong record of community support. In 2024, the company donated public address systems to all government schools in Igbesa to enhance daily learning and communication. This year’s football competition and donation of musical instrument further reaffirm the Zone’s dedication to fostering a supportive environment for academic and personal growth.
OGFTZ continues to demonstrate the powerful impact of public-private partnerships and the value of investing in the future through education, sports, and consistent community outreach.
