Kaduna Police Strengthens Partnership With FOU "B" Customs


The Federal Operations Unit Zone “B” of the Nigeria Customs Service  Kaduna,  has reiterated the need for stronger collaboration with other security outfits as it Strengthens partnership with the Police force.




The Comptroller of the unit, Albashir Hamisu,stated this on Thursday when the Commissioner of Police Kaduna state Yekini Ayoku paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

He explained that  FOU will further strengthen inter-agency cooperation in areas of joint operations and capacity development.

According to him  “It is in our interest to work together as that is one of the keys to tackling security challenges.  Our close collaboration will no doubt achieve a win-win situation for us as separate services, for the Federal Government”

“In reality, we are members of one family manifesting in different colours because of the division of labour. This personal relationship makes intelligence gathering and sharing very easy” He added.

Comptroller Hamisu further assured the Unit of support and cooperation on a round the clock basis whenever the need arises.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of police CP Ayoku, acknowledged the importance of Customs in fighting smuggling In Nigeria. He promised to continuously give all the necessary support and cooperation to Customs operatives to enable them discharge their duties effectively.

Ayoku also pledged to continue working with other security agencies to protect residents’ lives and property.
He added that the police does not work alone as it strives to maintain ties with other security agencies.

CP Ayoku described Customs as a sister security agency close to the heart of policing the country and providing security at the ports and within.

“We are working excellently with all the sister agencies and that has resulted in the relative peace being enjoyed in the state". He concluded.
