Operatives of Zone-2 Onikan Police Command led by Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu psc+ have made another giant strides, arrested a suspected Indian hemp merchant, Ishola Sunday 'M' 22 years old, recovered hundred (100) bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp and ten (10) motorcycles used for conveyance.

The arrest, which came successfully on 7th of August, 2020 upon information received by the Officer-in-Charge of Zonal Monitoring Unit, SP. Uba Adams that some criminal elements are smuggling arms and ammunition into the country through Imeko border.

Uba and his team, swung into action, moved to Ibara Orile via Okedi Village along Abeokuta-Imeko road where they laid ambush.

Surprisingly, the smugglers changed their route and decided to converge elsewhere based on information from their spies who usually go before them to see if the road is free for movement.

While they await the truck arranged to convey the smuggled items to their supposed destination in a border village between Ogun and Oyo States, the Operatives arrived and they all took to their hills leaving behind the smuggled items which was later discovered to be weeds suspected to be Indian hemp and their motorcycles.

However, lucky ran against Ishola Sunday who was arrested with the motorcycles and consignments.

According to the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Hauwa idris Adamu in a release made available to the press "Efforts are in top gear to arrest fleeing suspects as investigation is in progress while suspects will be charged to court upon completion for prosecution" Hauwa added.
