GOVERNMENT ASSURES QUICK INTERVENTION ON SABO MARKET AND FIRE VICTIMS

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured of government's quick intervention at ensuring that the popular Sabo market in Sagamu, gutted by fire was rebuilt as soon as possible.

Prince Abiodun made this known during an on the spot assessment of the market in Sagamu, saying the traders must learn a lesson from what happened at the scene of the fire outbreak, be calm and patient with the State Government.

 "By the grace of God, we will rebuild this market and put measures in place to ensure it does not happen again. We will also look at how to ensure the efficiency of our Fire Service", he said.

 He further assured that his administration would liaise with the State Emergency Management Agency and market leaders on the provision of relief materials for the affected traders, adding that the design of the market would be assessed to ensure accessibility of fire fighter equipment in case of recurrence.

 "We are going to take account and enumerate all those that have been affected by this fire and immediately reach out to them, so we can bring some succour to them; we will try and see how we can give them some relief because a lot has been lost in the fire", the Governor stated.

  The Governor, while acknowledging the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi and his counterpart from Epe, Oba Adewale Osiberu, for sharing in the grief of the people, appreciated the Fire Service for promptly attending to the disaster.

  In his response, Oba Babatunde Ajayi urged the affected traders to be patient with the State Government in its quest to rebuild the market and offer relief materials to them
